KS4 Courses Choices

Curriculum Choices

We strongly believe students should continue to access a wide range of subjects as they move on from the broad and balanced curriculum we offer at Key Stage 3. We pride ourselves in the number of subjects we have invested in.

All students will study:

  • GCSE English Literature
  • GCSE English Language
  • GCSE Maths
  • GCSE Dual Science (Worth 2 GCSE grades)
  • GCSE Spanish/French  or  GCSE History  or GCSE Geography (They may choose to study more than one from this list)

Students cannot study more than 1 of the Art & Design courses: Art / Textiles / Graphics / 3D Design.

We recommend that they study a range of courses to keep their options open as they progress on to college, 6th Form and apprenticeships when they leave KPHS.

They need to choose a main choice and a reserve choice from each block

This year they can access:

Table KS4 Courses Choices 2026

Choices must be made online by Tuesday 19th May. Please follow this link: Curriculum Choices 2026

Your child’s unique access code can be found on the covering letter of their school report or they can ask their Tutor in school for another copy.

If you have any issues, you can email Ms Jeanmaire directly (ejeanmaire@kingswaypark.org) and she will input your main and reserve choices for each block.

While we endeavour to be able to meet every child’s choices, if this is not possible your child will be contacted with a range of possible options. Your child will be informed of their KS4 courses on the week beginning 13TH July 2026.

Your child will have 18th Sept 2026 to request changes. They must have a letter from a parent/carer. Only if there is space, your child will be moved.

For more information about individual courses and the local labour market information, please download the Parent/Carer Option booklet. You can also download the presentation from  parents/carers’ evening.

Altus Education Partnership respects the work-life balance of our colleagues and those with whom we work. There is no expectation for you to provide an immediate response to this email, unless it is explicitly stated in the email.

Below, you will find a presentation and a booklet to guide you in making informed and balanced choices. They explain how Year 9 students choose their Key Stage 4 (KS4) courses, which they will study during Years 10 and 11.
