Culture Day 2023

Kingsway Park held its inaugural 'Culture Day' on the 23rd of November 2023. To mark this day, students and staff attended in traditional cultural dress to reflect the diversity of our school. 

Subject lessons also reflected the cultural heritage of our students and staff and faculties based their curriculum content on the cultures present within a continent. Students then completed their world map to be entered into a prize draw. 

Following the end of the timetabled day 'Culture Day' continued. International food was on offer and we celebrated culture featuring:

•African dancing, belly dancing, drumming, our students performed alongside professionals

•Activities – henna, face painting, lantern making, bookmark making

•Dhol drumming  

•Library stall displaying cultural books and bookmark activity to celebrate a variety of cultures

•Alpha to have a stand with some displays and activities 

•Workshops – drumming and dancing  

•Scratch map to invite people to scratch where they are from and complete a card telling us something interesting or a personal experience  

Parents and relatives joined us in school and the event truly encapsulated what makes Kingsway Park special. Together, #wearekingsway
